Thort is a new venture, built on a foundation of deep expertise and a forward-thinking vision. Though our team is currently small and agile, we are spearheaded by a founder with a robust and passionate background in Artificial Intelligence.
Academic Foundation
My journey into AI began in 2020, coinciding with the start of my undergraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. This period was a deep dive into the foundational principles and cutting-edge techniques shaping the field.
Specialised Training
My academic pursuits culminated in a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the prestigious University of St Andrews, where I further honed my skills and explored specialised areas of AI research.

Intelligent Order Processing Platform
We developed a sophisticated order processing platform tailored for wholesalers. This system intelligently transcribes orders received via voicemails, emails, and PDFs from customers. It accurately extracts relevant information, structures it into a standardised order format, and seamlessly integrates with existing inventory and fulfilment systems. The platform significantly reduces manual data entry, minimises errors, and accelerates the entire order-to-delivery cycle, enhancing operational efficiency.
Advanced Pre- and Post-Operative Fitness Monitoring
In collaboration with healthcare professionals, we engineered a progressive web application for pre-operative and post-operative patient monitoring. This application connects via Bluetooth to state-of-the-art indoor exercise bicycles, capturing vital signs and performance data during workouts. The system analyses this data to provide personalised recommendations for subsequent exercises, optimising workout efficiency and supporting patients in achieving faster, more effective recoveries.
Personalised AI-Powered Learning Application
We created an innovative learning application designed to enhance study effectiveness. The platform automatically generates digital flashcards from user-uploaded PDFs, PowerPoint slides, or through simple text prompts. A key feature is its integrated AI Tutor, which allows users to explore and learn diverse subjects. The tutor breaks down complex topics into manageable milestones and engages users in Socratic dialogue to foster deeper understanding and critical thinking, personalising the educational journey.
